As more tales of phantom mortgages emerge from the MPs’ expenses dossier, there are still a number of politicians who are not ripping off the taxpayer

Brian Jenkins, the Labour MP for Tamworth, claims little or no mortgage interest for his property in London where he stays when he is not in his constituency 120 miles away.

In 2004-05, he claimed £60 a month, while he made no claims at all on his mortgage interest between 2005 and 2008.
